An exhibition of drawings “The World of Rachmaninoff” opened in Veliky Novgorod

An exhibition of the finalists and winners of the All-Russian drawing competition “The World of Rachmaninoff” was opened at the Children’s Music School No. 1 named after S. Rachmaninoff.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Novgorod Region Ilianna Petrova, Deputy Director of the Russian National Museum of Music Evgenia Novoselova and the winners of the drawing competition Anastasia Grishakova (the Saratov Region), Valeria Klimova (Lipetsk), Oleg Yeresko (the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – UGRA) , Alexandra Timrova (the Belgorod region) and Alexander Chesnokova (the Saratov region).

Ilianna Petrova: 2023 is a landmark year for Veliky Novgorod. This is the year of art, the anniversary year of the great composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. I am very pleased to welcome you to this special place with a special atmosphere – the oldest Children’s Music School named after S. Rachmaninoff. We are very pleased to open a wonderful exhibition here today, which was created by young artists from various regions of our country. The geography is truly amazing. I want to note that all of the children were able to express in their works those feelings, thoughts, moods that they have associated with the name of Rachmaninoff. They did it so sincerely, so professionally that Rachmaninoff’s music literally sounds in every picture.

You can get acquainted with the works of the finalists and winners of the art competition during the days of the Rachmaninoff International Youth Piano Competition in Veliky Novgorod. The exhibition will be posted online on the official website www.rachmaninoff-youth.com at the end of the International Youth Piano Competition.
