THE EVENTS OF THE RACHMANINOFF INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PIANO COMPETITION ATTRACTED MORE THAN 2.000.000 WORLDWIDE

The Rachmaninoff International Youth Piano Competition held in March 21-26, 2023 – the year of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninoff – ended in Veliky Novgorod.
Online broadcasts of all the stages of the Competition were supported by the largest Russian social network VKontakte and on the Chinese classical music portal Music Today, the recordings are available in the archive on this website.
 
The total number of views of all the events of the Contest exceeded 2,000,000. Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Germany, Moldova, USA, Thailand, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Turkey, France, Estonia, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Israel, Canada and Spain are among the countries where the Contest  was watched.

In total, 120 applications from 8 countries of the world were submitted to the competition: Russia, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, China, Colombia, Norway and Uzbekistan. 15 young pianists were invited to participate in the first round of the Rachmaninoff International Youth Piano Competition: Bakirov Lev (Russia), Diaz Padilla Daniel (Colombia), Iskorostensky Artur (Russia), Knyazev Alexander (Russia), Li Tianyu (China), Li Junjie (China), Mazurov Georgy (Russia), Nguen Duc Kien (Vietnam), Ming Rui (China), Fedor Orlov (Russia), Gleb Semyonov (Russia), Wu Xuanxiang (China),  Wu Yifan (China), Ji Qinyaoyao (China) and Shadrina Airis (Belarus).
The skills of the contestants were assessed by a reputable jury, represented by prominent figures of culture and art – famous musicians from Russia, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium and Vietnam – Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Frederic Kempf, Victor Yeresko, Zhania Aubakirova, Ta Quang Dong, Maxim Mogilevsky, Vladimir Tropp and Valery Pyasetsky. Artistic director and chairman of the jury – Denis Matsuev.
 
The competition was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Novgorod Region. ROSCONCERT with the participation of the Novgorod Regional Philharmonic named A. Arensky organized and held the competition.

Shadrina Airis

Belarus

Born in 2004 in Minsk (Belarus).

A student of the Republican College of Music at the Belarus State Academy of Music.

Already at the age of 7 she gave her first solo concert performing 11 pieces of the “Children’s Album” by P. Tchaikovsky.

A laureate of numerous competitions and a winner of special prizes, including: the X International Competition for Young Pianists named after T. Nikolaeva (the Grand Prix and a special prize for the best performance of a piece by T. Nikolaeva, Bryansk), a three times laureate of the International Children’s Competition “Music of Hope” (Belarus, Gomel), the XXI International Competition for Young Pianists named after Maria Yudina (I prize. St. Petersburg), the XXVIII International Competition for Young Musicians maned after D. Kabalevsky (I prize. Samara).

A scholarship holder of the Yuri Rozum International Charity Foundation.

Along with improving her piano skills, Iris also tries herself as a composer of piano music.
