Acceptance of applications for the International Youth Piano Competition named after Sergey Rachmaninoff extended until February 22

The International Youth Piano Competition named after Sergey Rachmaninoff extends the acceptance of applications for a week, until February 22, 2023. Musicians aged 10 to 18 inclusive at the time of the start of the contest are invited to participate. The results of the qualifying round will be announced on March 1, 2023.

The skill of the participants of the competition will be judged by a professional jury, which includes outstanding cultural figures, famous musicians from Russia, Kazakhstan, Great Britain Germany, Belguim and Vietnam – Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Frederic Kempf, Victor Yeresko, Zhania Aubakirova, Ta Quan Dong, Maxim Mogilevsky, Vladimir Tropp and Valery Pyasetsky. The Artistic director and chairman of the jury – Denis Matsuev.

The International Youth Piano Competition named after Sergey Rachmaninoff will be held for the first time in March 21-26, 2023 in the composer’s homeland Veliky Novgorod, in the year of his 150th birthday. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The organization and holding of the competition will be carried out by the Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution ROSCONCERT (http://rosconcert.ru/) with the support of the Government of the Novgorod Region.

Belarus

Born in 2004 in Minsk (Belarus).

A student of the Republican College of Music at the Belarus State Academy of Music.

Already at the age of 7 she gave her first solo concert performing 11 pieces of the “Children’s Album” by P. Tchaikovsky.

A laureate of numerous competitions and a winner of special prizes, including: the X International Competition for Young Pianists named after T. Nikolaeva (the Grand Prix and a special prize for the best performance of a piece by T. Nikolaeva, Bryansk), a three times laureate of the International Children’s Competition “Music of Hope” (Belarus, Gomel), the XXI International Competition for Young Pianists named after Maria Yudina (I prize. St. Petersburg), the XXVIII International Competition for Young Musicians maned after D. Kabalevsky (I prize. Samara).

A scholarship holder of the Yuri Rozum International Charity Foundation.

Along with improving her piano skills, Iris also tries herself as a composer of piano music.
